Image
It's not as easy to grow a green business, especially if you are an immigrant. I think many people in USA can associate with it and on many levels. America was built on immigrants, let's not forget it!

Always Inspring: The Art Faces of NYC

Image
When was the last time you've been to a large international art expo and/or art fair? Last Spring alone five international art shows took place in New York City, and I've gone to all of them - the indulgence of which not only did very good to me, but I've discovered many new emerging and modern artists, whose work was amazingly impressive and unique, and so thought the other visitors - btw ...

A Queer History of Fashion: From the Closet to the Catwalk

I shall NOT miss it! And you shall NOT as well! Jenny Shimizu, Helmut Red campaign. Photograph by Mark Seliger. September 13, 2013 - January 4, 2014 FIT will be hosting  A Queer History of Fashion: From the Closet to the Catwalk exhibit, and you should NOT miss it! I've visited many events organized by the Museum at FIT and I've always found them fabulous (like the one about Daphne  Guinness  and/or the Shoe Obsession one)   as much as educational like The Designers & Books Fair 2012 and/or Desire Unlimited: The Cinema of Pedro Almodóvar ) You just can't go wrong with any of their exhibitions. They don't do them often, but if they do - they are always worth the attention. Last January I've joined FIT as a student , where I'm taking computer graphic design courses. I love the atmosphere of the school and often people-watch during the breaks. Everyone's so unique in the personal style. In the lobby of the school every so often the new wo

Going back to fulfilling my promise to tell you about some of the great finds I come about in the city - the new places that not only I discover, but that I actually put on my  favorite list  of the places to revisit again and... again . One of such is the Republic - the noodles restaurant on Union Square.

If You're Thinking About... A Tattoo

Image
When in Rome, do as Romans do... The idea of a tattoo came from my recent trip to Miami. Absolutely everyone in Miami Beach and South Beach had a tattoo - both men AND women... [By the way, I've been always appreciative of a beautiful tattoo art and I do make a note...]

The summer is here, have you upgraded your summer shoe closet? I'm very pleasantly - [and very overwhelmed at the same time] - with the growth of the fabulous shoe brands all across. Every year we're getting more and more choices to choose from, both - from the high fashion designers like Stella McCartney, Donna Karan, Alexander Wang and L.A.M.B., but also from the lower-priced shoe brand chains like Banana Republic, J. Crew , Zara and Nine West.  Despite the abundance of the choices, there are just a few of the brands that we really, really love...

In And Around: New York City Summer Style

Image
The summer is finally here, and the New Yorkers know what it means - the heat in the city feels so much hotter than out and about in the open area in a less crowded and congested city, which 'breathes', while the AC is bursting out inside the subway carts, at the stores and in the offices.  Those who love New York City have to battle some of the worst 'climates' of the city, every year, but still love living in the city, or not as much when you feel the sweat running down your absolutely fabulous outfit?  How do you cope with the summer heat, when you have to accommodate both the heat of the city and the coldness of the offices? Here are some street styles and tips...
