The Best Anti-Cellulite Commercial EVER: Why We Worry?

I never ever used any cellulite treatments, so I don't even know what's out there to address the cellulite 'problem' except for hearing that there are some kind of magic spandex 'body suits' for various parts of the body, which women wear under their dresses to look slimmer and cellulite-free. However, I have never seen them up close and personal, or worn them for that matter. I don't even know if any of the lady friends I have wear them. I just know I don't wear them.

But according to this ad by Vichy, which, by the way, is great: women are very concerned about their cellulites:

And to tell you the truth - with a great assurance - men are less likely to notice it [cellulite] on the women they like than the women would on themselves. I doubt that men even have the world 'cellulite' in their conversational vocabulary. Have ever you ever heard a guy talking to a guy about the cellulite: "Hey, listen, I was looking at my thigh cellulite last night..." Yeah, that's right, I don't think so... And if you do hear men talking about it, then run away, way away from these kinds of men.

That is why often you might see a couple, where a guy has a perfect six-pack, while his 'better half' has the signs of the cellulite.
Firstly, when have we started talking about the cellulite? I doubt the word 'cellulite' even existed in the times of Roman and Greek empires and/or during the Victorian era. The 'cellulite' is the word that was not invented by the women and I can definitely assure you that if you ask men about it, the majority of them wouldn't even know what it is unless they read women's fashion magazines and/or tabloids.

Cellulite 'word' took its place on the tongues of the fitness professionals, fashion industry players and the beauty and skin care companies - it's a relatively 'new' word but it took the society by storm and now anywhere we look, we see ads for cellulite treatments, pictures of celebrities in the magazines, where the reporters are talking about celebrities' imperfection, and bla bla bla. There's even a whole website dedicated JUST to the cellulite problems and treatments -  How to Treat Cellulite. Are we 'evolving' - from fast food nation to cellulite nation? Aren't we all tired of being 'presented' with the new problems in our lives we need to deal with? Aren't you tired of it? Because I am.

The fact is that the condition of cellulite, most often, is a genetical condition and has nothing to do with the person's weight as some women were made to believe: skinny girls have cellulite too!

There are a lot of reasons why cellulite is said to appear on your body including hormonal reasons, poor diet and lifestyle choices, age and genetic predisposition. While each of these factors can play a role in cellulite formation, there is one common denominator to all of these factors - the accumulation of toxicity in your body. Think about this: the vast majority of people have had decades of eating packaged foods, refined sugars and salts, processed starches, cooked animal proteins, chemicals, pesticides and preservatives, and even higher quality foods but too much of them and in poor combinations. That’s just what you’ve eaten.
As a matter of fact, many celebrities who are known as 'perfect skinny girls' came out and admitted that they have cellulite too, and that explains the fact that the cellulite is in the genetics. One of them - Sienna Miller, who admitted a few times that her photos are being air-brushed and that she does have the cellulite like many non-celebrity women out there.

Some of us have no cellulite, some - have a lot.

Of course there are ways to minimize the appearance of it - through healthy diet (the cellulite, apparently, is a big fan of sugar and salt intakes and, believe it or not, a sweetened coffee and processed foods can be part of the triggers to blame). The exercise and an-ongoing fitness regime can also minimize it as well as spa, sauna and full body massage. But again, this will not completely eliminate it. There are also a few tricks to 'hide' it - through a tan lotion and some spandex. But again, who wants to wear extra 'pants', not to mention that it looks like the cycling pants - not the most flattering body cloth.

Here are a few more tips, some which can be done easily and naturally:
  • Eat a clean, alkaline, unprocessed diet: All fresh fruits and vegetables are alkaline. The alkalinity of these fresh, life force rich foods magnetizes to the acidic toxic matter in your cells, drawing it out so it can be removed from your body. The key is to gradually increase your fresh produce consumption (mostly vegetables) so that you don’t magnetize out more toxicity than the body can remove. Otherwise the toxins will just re-circulate and then re-settle. If you don't like to eat vegetables by themselves - fresh vegetable juice is king.
  • Hydrate and flush: You need to drink enough pure, clean water and organic hydration from fresh fruits and vegetables to keep toxins flushing through you. Water is essential to life and it is also essential to reducing and preventing further cellulite. If you don’t like your water straight up, some lemon juice or lemon slices. Herbal tea is also great but avoid coffee and tea as much as possible and if you do choose to include them drink extra water and fresh vegetable juice to help counter their dehydrating effects and acidity.
  • Swap your salt: for Celtic sea salt or Himalayan crystal salt. Crystal and sea salt are alkaline, packed full of beneficial minerals [I forgot how the standard salt tastes like].
  • True detoxification: everyone knows what it is, so no need to describe the process. However, there's one thing - as you consume the alkaline full diet, it helps to get rid of the body toxins and so that the toxins don't just stay and settle in the body, you need to flash them out
  • Skin brushing and massage: dry bristle skin brushing and massage helps toxins to be circulated into the elimination channels for release. Skin brushing can specifically target areas of cellulite. Using a skin brush in small circular movements over your thighs, butt and other areas with cellulite for a few minutes a few times per week will help to break down the fatty deposits that cause the dimpled appearance. It is best to start with just a minute of skin brushing and then work your way up to a few minutes at a time.
  • Moving and sweating: let me just say it - Bikram, Bikram, Bikram. The best way to expel the toxins through your skin. However, any sweat-generating exercise is good.
  • Limit the use of skin thinning creams: getting 'cellulite' reduction treatments over the counter at your local CVS store wouldn't do it. This is something you need to discuss with your doctor or alternative health practitioner - again, only if you think your 'cellulite' needs that kind of attention. But do nourish your skin with moisturizing totally natural oils and creams such as coconut oil, and olive oil.
That's said. Don't go overboard with it. Most like you don't need it. It's all in your head, not in the head of your partner, family and/or friends. Live for yourself, not for the others.

Just enjoy life and be happy that you don't have the serious diseases and problems that can actually harm you, unlike the cellulite situation, which, by no means, will never ever make your life shorter and/or effect your relationship with your friends, family and better halves.

P.S. If the only thing that matters and upsets your boyfriend/girlfriend is your cellulite, then perhaps it's time to re-think your relationship. You don't need it. You are much better than that. Just look at Hugh Jackman and his wife of 17 years. Their relationship is a perfect example of how one man's six-pack don't have to match  to the shape of his partner's body in order to be happy and loved.

Oh, and happy monday!
