A Shaded View on Fashion Film

I really wished I was in Paris last week, and not because for all the reasons I love this city - including the Parisian fashion.

The world’s first annual film festival dedicated to fashion, style and beauty that continues to shake up the old rules of fashion by shifting the focus from still photography to moving image - the fifth edition of A Shaded View on Fashion Film - took place is at Centre Pompidou in Paris, one of my favorite exhibit halls in the city!

This event has been founded by the legendary fashion journalist, Paris-based Diane Pernet (of cult blog A Shaded View on Fashion), and has become a leading event on the international fashion calendar, featuring films by the likes of directors Sofia Coppola and Jim Jarmusch and procuring brands and designers from Alexander McQueen to Louis Vuitton and Richard Nicoll.

Knowing the extravagant style of Pernet, one can only assume what kind of films are being selected for the festival...



Each year it showcases short films (each 30 seconds to five minutes long) that are judged for its talent, style, art direction, etc.

The event takes place over three days and covers all aspects of the film spectrum from cult and vintage screenings, documentaries and a selection of feature-length movies.  On 16th of November it was taken to Tokyo. What's the next stop? I really wish it was New York City!
