About Town...Toronto: A Street Artist-Buddhist

I found the street fashion of Toronto very laid-back and very simple. There isn't much of the 'global fashion influence' that can be seen in a personal style of a Toronto resident, however, once in a while - [when you spent as much walking and visiting various cafes and shops in the city] - you can meet a local, whose style is a bit more diverse than the ones of the others...

Meet a local street artist-Buddhist, who lives in a monastery with the other artists - Buddhists - and who uses garbage items to design furniture and home accessories. On this day, he's been selling the lamps, designed completely out of the garbage....

Pretty cool, huh? However, what first attracted me in the lamps has turned my attention to the personal style of the artist. Aside from the cool hat and very laid back linen combo of a shirt and shorts, he was wearing Japanese traditional footwear known as "jika-tabi", which I'm a big fan of and own a pair of the white jika-tabi mysef...Here's how mine look like, which I've been wearing quite a few times around New York and which still, after all this time, attract a lot of attention.
