The Stylish Simplicity: A Stylish Casualness

There is something about the people, who know, how to dress simple and at the same time - stylish. Choosing one attribute of an overall look that both compliments the whole look and, at the same time, adds an element that makes a simple look stylish and less casual, but casual enough - is, sort of, an art.

I see a lot of people, who try too hard to look stylish by throwing everything that they think defines 'fashion' and 'style' and end up looking too made-up. And then I see individuals, who seem to have an art of 'effortlessness' to them when it comes to putting a stylish casual look together. Here's just a few examples of the individuals who did it right - they look effortlessly contend in the casual style...

A nice pullover always adds that element of a stylish casualness, sans the pullover - jeans and sneakers would have looked too casual...

A short black leather jacket over a top of a beige dressy dress and beige shoes adds that element of casualness to a dressed-up look to bring it down to the casual stylish look and brings out the color of the neutral colors of the overall look...
Should I even comment on the way Japanese know how to dress - it's in their blood, I think. This young man wears gray washed out jeans with gray sneakers, but the bright purple shirt brings the grayness out and makes the overall look more stylish. Not to mention the hairstyle!
Who would have thought that translucent beige on beige could work? It usually does not. It washes one off, unless you have a relatively dark skin and dark features - hair, eye color, etc. But this young lady broke up the overall beige look with a gold belt, 'very retro' black shoes and an oversized black leather bag... The spiky light red haircut adds that 'oomph' effect to the look.
