Fall's Essentials: Rubber It In...

Long before Kate Middleton became the "IT" royal, fashionable girl and our answer to the 'stylishly classy Britain' - [finally, we could let go of Princess Di and move on to the next British inspiration...] - we started to crave some British...British movies, British actors - [don't even get me started on Colin Firth and Daniel Craig...] - British tea sandwiches, Earl Gray, Kate Moss' unpretentious style, Prince Henry's polo-games, Pierce Morgan's dry humor, Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic's In-Flight Entertainment, Burberry trench coats...We were becoming a bit of "British" ourselves, admitting it or not - but we were...And the next thing we know, it became hip and cool to wear rubber boots - the once considered 'hideous' trend - the rubber boots became the "IT" boots to have, raining it or not, everyone seems to be wearing them nowadays...

[Back in the days, I thought I'd be caught dead wearing rubber boots that, in my teenage mind, only suited for some yard work at a summer house in the middle of woods, where NO ONE would ever see me wearing ones...]

Of course, here in USA we could also blame the 'rubber boots trend' on the Burning Man and Coachella - on all the stylish Hollywood and Britain's royalty, who wear them to the muddy rock-and-hippy concerts... Now you see the boots on the streets of NYC, DC, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles... And it's not going to end any time soon as those boots are morphing themselves into the colors and styles that even a desert's native would be attracted to wear it on a very dry day...

This is pretty much a prehistory of how the Hunter boots have taken over the United States of America - they came, they conquer, and we prevailed...And I'm digging every moment of it - to the point of being very tempted to get the new ones - the red ones...
