My Old, New Love...Faux-Fur Vests and Trims

With a little help from my fury beast, I put together a petite guide to the Fall's Essentials...It's all about faux-fur vests and faux-fur-trim collars...

One of the more interesting fall 2011 fashion trends is the rise of the faux-fur vests and faux-fur-trim collars. You see it everywhere - on a runaway and on a subway. They come in various shapes, forms and dyes. It's truly refreshing to finally succumb to the idea that Faux fur vs. Real fur is, actually, cooler to wear - and it saves animals. For those who do not live in USA, it's harder to understand what an INFLUENCE PETA organization has on the American citizens - it's very powerful, it has a very strong voice and millions of followers who would go out of their way to chase you down - a real-fur wearer - and make you realize that it's WRONG. But we came to understand that ourselves... and we are actually loving our faux-fur clothes and accessories.

I love my jean-faux-fur-trim jacket from an outlet somewhere in the suburbs of Verona that I got in 2005 and still in love with! My old-new love...
Up close and personal look...You know what the say: a designer's items lasts forever - it's timeless. Don't be afraid to invest in one statement-essential item for a season.
It became a true fashion statement - and the aviator jackets come with it too...Yuuumm!

The trim is simple - white, sheep-faux-fur and goes very well with the all-black leather and zippers...

Here’s some tips on how to wear the faux fur vest trends:

- Keep it Simple - don't wear all faux-fur at the same time, it's got to be only ONE, two - at most, items at the same time...Keep the accessories to a minimum - statement jewelry complement, but only in the form of a big ring [or two rings]...A hat would add a "la la la effect"

- Keep it Causal - faux fur vests is one of those trends that’s best to go as casual as possible and by causal, try a simple solid long sleeve t-shirt and jeans. However, it does go with an evening outfit, as long as it's simple as well [don't abuse the jewelry box]... A scarf might complement it...or ruin it. Try and see...

- Keep it Luxe - when buying a faux fur vest, look for one that looks as real (and by default, as luxurious) as possible. A perfect example is the above vest that I got from Zara, or there is one that I would have definitely bought if I didn't already had one - from Rachel Zoe’s collection for QVC

- Keep it Light Layered - a faux fur vest adds bulk, so don't wear it on a thick sweater...
