The Oscar's: The Red Carpet's Best, Worst And...Just Love

The Oscar's Academy Award might be over on ABC, but it's no anywhere near to be over in the press and bar conversations - the E! Entertainment TV channel has been on the red carpet review and rewinds of the acceptance speeches with the behind-the-scene looks all morning today. A few more days, and the US Weekly, Life & Style, People, In Touch and many other celebrity gossip magazines will hit the stands with their take on the Oscar's. Let's just say the word "red carpet", "Oscar's" and "Jennifer Lawrence" fall on the stairs  and Ben Affleck's passionate acceptance speech will be on the mouths of many movie fans and movie critics in the next few weeks.

Oscar's is, by far, the most grande event in the life of not only Hollywood and American showbusiness, but it's one of the most important and biggest entertainment events in the world because - [and let me break it down for you] - it's the event that changes the lives of both the nominees and the winners of the award forever. How? This is how:

1. The nominees, even if they don't win the award, secure the upper placement among the major players in the entertainment industry and the acknowledgment of their work alone earns them better film deals, better salaries and...better fashion, better services and a worldwide name recognition and... more expectations from their agents. They will now never need to consider shitty projects for a low pay. 

2. The winners's fate changes the same way, only know they will be both glorified and expected to only do great projects. God forbid they'd star in a film that fails at the box office - the film critics would be very hard on them from now on. They could only go up from here. 

3. The foreign nominees and winners not only secured their golden path into the Hollywood, but they would also, most likely, not be able to live in their modest neighborhoods of whatever place they are from.

To make a long story short. They are now taken seriously by the showbusiness and they've gotten the respect they deserved.

I don't want to talk a lot about the Oscar's. The visuals would speak for itself. Personally, I've been watching the Oscar's since I was a kid. It's one TV show I cannot miss. Yes, it might be silly. But so are then the fans of the World Cup, Olympics, Super Bowl and Grammy's.

Here's the round-up of ALL of the celebrities on the red carpet at the 85th Oscar Academy Awards that took place on February 24, 2013 in Los Angeles.

First, let's talk names. 

Oscar's is one of those events that offer the most important marketing opportunities for the fashion and accessories designers. It's the event that features the best of the best and secures free coverage in the many media formats during and long time after the event. Thus, the designers really push it hard for the celebrities to wear their gowns. This is when the designer's PR teams need to kiss some serious ass of the personal stylists to the celebrities. And if you've dressed two, three and more celebrities on the red carpet - you are golden!

Thank you to the likes of Helen Hunt, we now know that a gown doesn’t have to cost thousands of dollars to make a statement. H&M can do just fine…

I was also surprised to see so little of Marchesa on the Oscar’s red carpet, taken that the designer of the Marchesa, Georgina Chapman, is the wife of one of the most powerful Hollywood producers – Harvey Weinstein. What's not the best way to promote your designs than the Oscar's!

And now, some of my favorite couples on the red carpet and the reason why I love and respect Hugh Jackman, Dustin Hoffman, Christoph Waltz, Daniel Day Lewis and Paul Rudd.

Quentin Tarantino and Writer Lianne Spiderbaby. Congratulation to Tarantino. They guy can still make a film that is as funny and weird as it is super violent and get an Oscar for it! It also helps to have Leonardo diCaprio and Christoph Waltz to star in it.

Daniel Day Lewis in Domenico Vacca. One of my favorite acceptance speeches of the night was the one by Daniel Day Lewis, who just proved me right when he said that his wife has been living all these years with a very strange man! A very strange indeed, taken that Lewis is known to stay in the character off the screen as well until the film is completed. Imagine going to bed with Lincoln every night? A strange man, indeed. Even Stanislavsky would have been surprised that some actors are taking his Method Acting way too far. 

Jamie Foxx and Daughter Corinne Bishop. Foxx has such an adult daughter? Yes, really…

Don Johnson and Wife Kelley Phleger. Could you be a bit more affectionate and inclusive of your Oscar’s date – your wife?

Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw

Bradley Cooper and Mom Gloria Cooper. I’m assuming Brad is taking the height after his farther…

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. Two words – very cute!

Mark Ruffalo and Wife Sunrise Coigney

Hugh Jackman in Tom Ford With Wife Deborra-Lee Furness. Love, love Hugh Jackman as an actor! Have you seen him on Broadway? Have you heard him sing in Les Miserables? Have you noticed he’s been married to the same woman all his life and with two adopted kids, living in New York City, he often says that his wife is the love and soulmate of his life. Jeez, I've just teared up!

Paul Rudd and Wife Julie Yaeger. Have I’ve mentioned that I not only respect Rudd as an actor – especially after seeing him in the Broadway play “Grace” last year, as well as a man, who has not been succumbed by Hollywood into a belief that a hot Hollywood actor has to be married to a beautiful air-head youngster.

Dustin Hoffman and Wife Lisa. Him and Meryl Streep are my most respected and beloved American actors of all time! Period.

Christoph Waltz and Wife Judith Holste. Very happy for Christoph Waltz winning the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the Django Unchained. I’ve been a big fan of his since the Inglorious Basterds and Carnage. This Austrian couple looks good! Waltz – please don’t move to Los Angeles!

Armani Junior: Quvenzhane Wallis. How you might have heard of Wallis? That’s the cute face behind the movie "Beasts of the Southern Wild," which has been a favorite among the New Yorkers for a few months already.
