In And About NYC...The Eternal Life Of Faux Fur Vests

A faux fur vest should be part of any self-respected fashionista's wardrobe...

Let's face, not many people like cold seasons - [I, personally, have a love-hate relationship with cold seasons] - and we spend all winters wrapping ourselves in everything that makes us warm and cozy, dreaming of summers, beach and bathing suits.

However, there are quite a few people who actually enjoy wearing boots, leather jackets/dresses/pants, scarves, hats and gloves - and they wait for the cold season to come to showcase their fall/winter collections. And that includes fur and/or faux fur overalls, which is a must to have despite the fact that not many people know how and when to wear them...

My Zara faux fur vest...

Season after season, decade after decade - those fur vests don't seem to cease to exist and easled their way into almost every fashionista's wardrobe. It's almost essential now to have it in every fashionista's wardrobe.

They come in different colors and lengths, and they are so versatile that they can be worn with pretty much everything and make even the most casual simple outfit - fashionable. From jeans to skirts, shorts to dresses, beret hats to sweatshirt hoods, stilletos to bulky boots - the vests add a 'falvor' to pretty much everything.

I often combine it with various hats and scarves...

Nevertheless, as versatile and 'applicable' the fur vests they are, many girls have the same question year after year: "How do you wear a fur vest during the cold times, the arms would be cold?!" And you are not far from the truth - it IS cold to wear a fur vest, because naturally, when one part of the body is warm, other parts, like your arms and hands - are cold, so it'd be wise to advice to wear it - [like I do} - either on a very warm sweater and/or over a leather jackets and/or short fitted coat. Otherwise, you'd be cold.

I've spotted this girl on Upper East Side, she was on her way to work. Her very simple and clean - but fashionable - look caught my attention. Moreover, she wears her faux fur vest exactly the same way I do - over a leather motorcycle jacket...Black ala-motorcycle boots and black leather gloves add a nice touch to the overall look.

Despite the many concerns that you might have for wearing a fur vest, it should be part of your wardrobe! It's a timeless trend. It's a sure fashion statement. And any self-respected fashionista should have one in the style they feel both more comfortable and stylish. Here are a few variations, worn by the celebrities:
