America's Cup 2016, Day 2: The Winner Takes It All

Image
Day Two of the America's Cup 2016 was all that expected and more. Canceling the race yesterday, May 7, due to the lack of proper wind - (see the video from Day 1  here ), put the race at double stake for the next day. As a result, today, May 8th, 2016 - there were three races between the six teams that took part in the America's Cup 2016 in New York City: Oracle Team USA, Soft Bank Team Japan, Groupama Team France, Emirates Team New Zealand,  Land Rover Bar (UK) and  Team Artemis (Sweden). Today the wind (and the sun) was just about right. Watch the video to find out the winner of the America's Cup! See you in Bahamas next year?!

This year The America's Cup 2016 is taking place in New York City on Hudson and the American fans of this infamous sailing race couldn't be happier to see it in their home town this weekend. However, after days of preparations and excitement built up leading up to the race, the first day hasn't gone as planned. After two hours six teams cruised around the river, the race has been cancelled due to the lack of proper wind conditions.

It's Christmas Time, Part I: Looking Foward To Skiing Trips

Image
It's almost Christmas time and you know, what that means for me - for someone who is a pathetic romantic when it comes to the holiday spirit, decorations and the scent of a Christmas tree? It means that for the next month I'll be blogging quite a bit about everything that the Christmas and New Year's holidays are all about - shopping, fashion, lifestyle and decorations, as well as the activities one engages in during the holidays - like making home gluhwein (aka mulled wine) - [I must admit, my time living in and traveling extensively around Germany didn't go by wastefully, I can now make one mean gluhwein!] - and skiing in the Northern America. Yes, my dear readers - I'm such a child when it comes to these holidays. I've always loved them growing up and it took  me a while to give up the fact that Santa Claus does not exist…but, shshshsh , don't tell that to your kids, let them believe the magic as long as they can! So, when are we open...

Olympics Fashion: From Vintage To High-Tech

Image
I've been always a big, big, huge fan of Stella McCartney - from the very beginning of her fashion career, from her baby steps in the fashion industry.  I remember how many people were skeptical about 'a daughter of the famous Beatle entering the fashion industry' - just as another 'kid from a famous family who has nothing better to do but to be in a fashion designer' . Well, she's proven them all wrong, hasn't she?

An Individual Style To Biking

Image
Should I say no more that I'm a big fan of biking? Although, recently, I've been spending more time rollerblading.   Nevertheless, whenever I go out to bike and/or rollerblade, I take my camera, because, biking is not just sports and/or fitness, it's got its own style. Or, should I say, the people who bike - they've got their own style of biking. I see very interesting characters: from couple's biking to very professional bikers with a full attire and equipment. I see kids and elderly. I see two-some/three-some bikes that allow to tag the small kids along. I see all sorts of interesting bikers, helmets, baskets, bags, etc... Here's an interesting comparison: a professional biker vs. a casual stylish bike-stroller...
